"Rick & The Gang Raaaawwwkkk!!"

Rick! I wish to extend my personal heartfelt THANX to you and the gang for blowin' up my stage on Monday. It was truly a treat to have you and I admit I really was wowed by the performance. The crowd was hollerin' at ya and it was a fabulous set. For what it is worth, the owner couldn't see through the packed bar, but made a point to tell me she really thought you guys sounded great and liked it a lot. Just sayin'... Thank you again sir. You Raaaawwwkkk!! - Thom Stillwild

"Rick Salazar? AWESOME!"

Rick Salazar, you NEVER cease to amaze me! You are AWESOME! - Mary Baker

"Good Time Blues, Big Time Blues!"

I gotta say, I was blown away by the sheer force of the blues as Rick Salazar & Back N Blue started the night off at blues jam last Tuesday. The man has a command of the stage and full control over the movement of his band. Setting the tempo not only for his band but for the entire evening to come. You can hear excitement in his singing voice and, oh man, when he takes a lead you just gotta listen.. Folks, pure and simple, this is Good Time Blues, Big Time Blues!

During a time, long ago, electric guitar gods like Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton and others roamed the earth, spreading the gospel of electric blues. Rick Salazar & Back N Blue hearkens back to this time, an era of expression that found a foothold in the American psyche and across pockets of the world that influenced Salazar to develop a style reminiscent of the late great “Texas Twister”, Johnny Copeland. Salazar's luxury-laden guitar work and uniquely intense vocal attack (at times, reminiscent of one Buddy Guy), successfully combine for a musical intrigue. He has maintained an affinity for all sub genres under the “Blues”. Yet, still, Texas Blues seems to stick its head up just a little bit higher, here.

Rick Salazar, originally from New York City, repeatedly impressed east coast audiences throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania while in such bands as John King & The Cats. King, who went on to create Chung King Studios, produced tons of hits (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chung_King_Studios).

Currently based in Columbus, Ohio, since 2010, the Columbus Blues Alliance has honored Salazar as Artist Of The Month. In fact, there were 2 video taped interviews with Salazar, by the alliance. You can view them in the video section of the EPK. The Voodoo Lab endorsed artist list has Salazar sandwiched between Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and Ricky Chancey (Hank Williams Jr. and Wet Willie), and nearby Robert Fripp, Robert Plant and other notables.
